Welcome to the Journey

Life is a journey filled with victories, disappointments, questions, growth, healing, and hope. None of us arrive at wholeness overnight. We grow through experiences, faith, perseverance, and God's unfailing grace.

The Journey To Wholeness Blog was created to encourage every person who desires to live with greater purpose, stronger faith, healthier relationships, and lasting peace.

Here you will discover practical biblical teaching, thoughtful encouragement, personal reflections, healing principles, family legacy stories, and life lessons designed to help you continue becoming the person God created you to be.

Whether you are healing from yesterday, preparing for tomorrow, or simply seeking encouragement today, You are welcome here.

The Healing & Wholeness section of the Journey To Wholeness Blog is dedicated to encouraging readers through biblical principles, practical wisdom, and compassionate guidance. Here you will find articles that address the emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges many people face, while pointing to God's promise of restoration and renewal.

Together, we will explore healing from painful relationships, difficult experiences, and life-changing circumstances that may have left lasting wounds. We will discuss the importance of forgiveness, not as approval of what happened, but as a pathway to freedom. We will also examine healthy boundaries, emotional restoration, and the process of rediscovering our identity—not through what has happened to us, but through who God says we are.

It hurts to be corrected because your brain treats a mistake as a threat to your self-worth, social standing, and safety.

Why It Hurts

  • Ego and Identity: Many people tie their self-worth to being right. When you are wrong, it feels like a personal failure instead of a simple error.

Status Threat: The brain views social hierarchies as survival tools. Being corrected can feel like a sudden drop in your status or competence in front of others.

Childhood Conditioning: If caregivers or teachers mocked or shamed you for mistakes growing up, your brain learns to fear correction like a physical blow.

The Delivery: Tone matters. When a correction sounds condescending or judgmental, it triggers an instant defense mechanism rather than a desire to learn.

  • How to Cope
  • Separate your actions from your worth. Being wrong about a fact does not mean you are bad or stupid.
  • Pause and take a breath before reacting to let your physiological arousal settle.
  • Adopt a growth mindset where mistakes are viewed as normal tools for learning rather than proof of failure.
  • Does this happen mostly at work, with friends, or family?

  • Do you feel angry, ashamed, or anxious when it happens?
